Bruce Parks Memorial Donation
Player sponsorship funds received - On Saturday, January 5th, 2013 Ms. Karen Parks presented NWZ Midgets with a cheque in memory of her husband, Bruce Parks, who passed away recently. Bruce was previously a Category Director and Coach with Whitemud West Hockey , then moved on to Coach with NWZ Midgets and ultimately was appointed Coach to the very successful Junior B team , West Edmonton "Wild" (now known as SEZ Mustangs)...read full story from nwzhockey.com

Thank You EFD Golf!
The EFD Golf Tournaments are run and participated in by Edmonton Firefighters in an effort to raise money and awareness for local charities. For the 2012 Golf Season, EFD Golf had chosen to raise money for Sportsmanlike Conduct. The family plans to start the give-away after the Town and Country Daze parade on Saturday, June 9 at 1 p.m. They will have a truck set up at École Bellevue School loaded with gear. Families are encouraged to drop by if their children are in need of street hockey equipment.

Street Hockey Equipment for Slave Lake
Thanks to donors throughout the province who contributed to this fundraiser. Sportsmanlike Conduct donated street hockey equipment for the kids of Slave Lake who are still recovering from the 2011 blaze. Items donated include: sticks, balls, bags, gloves, shin pads, goalie masks, goalie pads, nets, shooter tooters/targets and roller blades to be distributed at community events.

Thank You Flight Centre!
Sportsmanlike Conduct requested a corporate donation from Flight Centre, and they responded within 24hrs! The travel agency provided the funds necessary to help us reach a fundraising goal for a local cause, and we're extremely grateful for their quick, no-hesitation support.

$1,500 in skates, sticks and helmets for Beaumont
A lack of equipment was a barrier preventing kids from attending the already-free public skating events. Thanks to the Town of Beaumont for helping facilitate this donation, and to United Cycle for giving us such a great deal on the equipment. The equipment will also be made available for Beaumont school ice-hockey programs.

$2,000 raised in memory of Scott Stewart
A local and well-known hockey player who passed away in the Summer of 2010 has been honoured by teammates, friends and family. The group organized a private event which raised $2,000 to be donated to Sportsmanlike Conduct in Scott's memory. This donation will be used to help give kids the opportunity to play the game Scott knew and loved.

Thank you to Powell Canada Inc and its employees for their generous donation and support of Sportsmanlike Conduct. Powell uses golf tournaments in addition to other company fundraising initiatives to support local charities such as ours. Teachers of Dickinsfield School in Edmonton contacted us about a student who required financial assistance to play organized hockey this season - thanks to our donors we were able to provide funding within 72hrs. 40 Hours for Sportsmanlike Conduct
Sportsmanlike Conduct volunteers are contributing a total of 40hrs to the Sylvan Lake / Jasper Summer Hockey Camp to raise money for kids to play hockey in Edmonton. The volunteers aim to raise $1,000 commencing July 26th, with all proceeds going towards the purchase of equipment required for a group of Edmonton inner-city kids to participate in organized hockey this 2010/2011 season.

$1,000 raised for the Boyle Street Education Centre
Sportsmanlike Conduct has donated $1,000 of new street hockey equipment for the Boyle Street Education Centre (BSEC).

The BSEC believes that disadvantaged students deserve the opportunity for full and equal participation in the life of Alberta. The Centre further believes that the provision of a holistic education program within the context of a multi-disciplinary community model and a supportive environment will maximize opportunities for students and that such education must be student centered and student driven.

$1,900 Raised for Deserving Student
Sportsmanlike Conduct has funded a $1,900 grant to a young, deserving student to participate in a local Edmonton hockey program.

Sportsmanlike Conduct has awarded a scholarship to the St Francis Xavier High School student/athlete who demonstrated the most extraordinary achievement and/or perseverance in the balance of life, sports and academics.

$500 Raised For Inner-city Kids
Sportsmanlike Conduct has purchased 100 Edmonton sports-facility passes for inner-city youth and has distributed the passes through Partner Schools in the area.  This helps provide a safe, after-school environment for kids to participate in group activities and train with volunteer coaches/mentors.

Awarding Hard-working, Deserving Kids
Sportsmanlike Conduct has created a unique sponsorship in cooperation with St. Francis Xavier High School to acknowledge a teenagers extraordinary achievement and/or perseverance in the balance of life, sports and academics.  The applicant (as chosen by the Faculty, Program Director and Sportsmanlike Conduct) demonstrating the most notable degree of achievement shall receive a scholarship to the St. Francis Xavier High School Hockey Program paid 100% in full by Sportsmanlike Conduct.

Raising $1,000 for equipment for Inner-city hockey players
Thank you to United Cycle, our new partner and hockey equipment supplier of choice.  We are grateful for their great attitude and keen interest in helping Sportsmanlike Conduct succeed.  In addition to their many contributions to other non-profits in Edmonton, United Cycle offers Sportsmanlike Conduct an opportunity to purchase a large quantity of equipment at at extremely low cost.  This helps Sportsmanlike Conduct to provide high-end, safe and brand new equipment to kids who need it.
